We obtained planning permission for the conversion of an existing two-storeyed flat into two one-bed flats and one split level mews flat. We won over the planners with our design for an external stair clad in perforated linen fabric. The design has the advantage of providing privacy from the neighbouring properties while also allowing natural light to filter through as the sun tracks around the building. The white rendered walls of the mews building will also reflect daylight into the flats.
