The Carriage House

The Carriage House was formerly used as a recording studio and had been converted to a residential use prior to the clients purchasing it in 2019. The clients have been restoring the existing fabric themselves but need to increase the size of the building to make it suitable to their needs.

The brief called for an additional two storeys, to incorporate a master bedroom and bathroom on one level and a sunspace/ lounge area on the other. They also wanted the new volume to capture as much natural light as possible, whilst still providing privacy to and from adjacent flats.
