The client brief was for a studio that could serve several functions: a space for quiet contemplation that will give them a different aspect of the garden; a space that could be used as a yoga studio; and alternative home office space. The clients have an appreciation for Japanese architecture, in its apparent simplicity and sophistication and wanted an architecture that would blend into the garden landscaping and weather gracefully over time.
